An open meeting of the FTC will take place on May 18, beginning at 11 am EST. The meeting will include time for members of the public to address the Commission and will focus on the following topics:

• Policy Statement On Biometric Information and Section 5 of the FTC Act: The Commission will vote to issue a Policy Statement regarding biometric information which will list examples of practices under particular scrutiny from the Commission.
• Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to Amend the Health Breach Notification Rule: The Commission will vote to issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to amend the Breach Notification Rule to clarify technologies and entities covered by the Rule, to facilitate electronic breach notices to consumers, and to expand the required content of the notices.

Members of the public who wish to comment must sign up by May 16.
